Appointments & Services we offer at Willow Tree

We try to keep our GP appointments for patients with more serious health problems.

Before you book an appointment to see a doctor  you maybe asked the reason for your call today as our Coordinators are trained to sign post to the best  appropriate person / service for your care

They are able to direct  certain condition’s such as minor Illness an example of these :

  • Chest, Urine, Ear infections.  Skin rashes. Abdominal pain, Wounds, Sore Throats
  • Some long term conditions such as  Asthma / Diabetics  can be addressed by a Minor Illness nurse

 

  • We have First Contact Physio we can pre book these are for those new MSK pain conditions, Back , Joints, Hand, Shoulders, Leg pains are just  a few they can assist with.                     This service held at Willow Tree and Botolph Bridge.

 

  • We have access to the following service we can refer into and  the reception coordinators can refer into this service as well as clinical staff members:

New service to the Surgery  October 2023

  • Mental Health Community Connectors
  • will support people over 18 years old
  • · suffering with moderate to severe mental health issues (see definition below)
  • · are not suitable for IAPT and do not reach thresholds for secondary services (see definitions below)
  • · currently rely on very regular GP appointments for sustained wellbeing,
  • And for whom:
  •  Isolation is a key issue
  • ·Their mental health issues are exacerbated by other social issues
  • i.e housing, relationship, physical health, finance/benefits, drugs and alcohol.

 

Mental health definitions

Mild mental health problem is when a person has a small number of symptoms that have a limited effect on their daily life.

Moderate mental health problem is when a person has more symptoms that can make their daily life much more difficult than usual.

Severe mental health problem is when a person has many symptoms that can make their daily life extremely difficult.

 

Social Prescribing link worker

We have access to this service through the Surgery please contact us if this is something we can help with. This has been highly Popular with patients in the 12 months we have has this in the Surgery.

 

Our receptionists can help you decide which is the right service for you and may sometimes sign post to the local pharmacist who can offer over the counter advice that may not need GP  input in the first instance. As some conditions can be managed at home with over the counter advice and treatment.
